Australia part 2

Then the next day we took a train to Brisbane and walked downtown in the park and walked on the bridge and took a ferry and went to another homestay where the lady had lived in Canada for a year.

Then we took a plane ride up to Cairns up the coast near the top of Australia and stayed at another hostel. While we were there we took the Kuranda scenic railway and saw some beautiful waterfalls and bridges, tunnels, mountains and old train cars.

And while we were in Kuranda we walked around the markets and shops. We stayed in a quiet campground out of town so we walked halfway there then the owner came and picked us up. When we were there we went for a swim in their big pool and the next morning we went for a walk beside the railway tracks and the river. That day we spent some more time at the market and stores and took the railway back to Cairns.

The next day we went on a ferry to Green Island on the Barrier Reef. While we were there we went swimming at the beach and saw some manta rays and colourful fish. Aaron did lots of snorkeling and swam with a turtle and a large something-ray. That afternoon Becky went on a glass bottom boat and saw 2 fish feedings and a baby shark. Becky also went on a semi submarine which is half boat half glass submarine. Becky saw lots of fish and coral and a sea turtle.

When we got back to Cairns we went downtown where they had a free public access swimming pool, a live band. We also read up on the history of Cairns and that it was used as a military base during WW2 in the Pearl Harbour Attack. We had a picnic and sat by a shaded tree to listen to some of the live music in the park.

That day we took a flight back to Sydney. On Sunday morning we went to the Hillsong Hills church and that night we went to the city evening church with many young people. The next day we almost missed our flight out of Australia. We were on the train and ran through the airport to get on the flight and found out the plane was delayed by an hour and hadn't arrived because of bad weather. Then it was 10 hours over 2 flights from Australia to Thailand. We really enjoyed Australia and seeing a wide variety of places there.
